Part of the Athletes Village, built for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Southeast False Creek Community
Center was the focal point during the games and is now the most publicly visible of all the neighborhood's
buildings.
The building consists
of a two-level community centre
space, child-care facility, boating
centre, fitness center, gymnasium
and also includes space for
a two-level restaurant.
The facility has successfully obtained
a LEED Platinum
certification and it forms part of
the greenest, most energy
efficient and sustainable
neighborhoods in North
America.
The mechanical systems implemented
throughout this facility
are innovative and relatively new
to the North American market.
However, once they are properly
designed, installed and commissioned, these systems offer significant advantages to both the building's owner, its
occupants and the environment. |
