Division 15 Mechanical began operations in 2004 after carrying on business for the preceding ten years as the “New Construction Division” of Brighter Mechanical Ltd., a multi discipline mechanical contracting firm. The focus of the firm was, and continues to be design/build and design/assist projects in the Greater Vancouver area.

The two founding principals of the company, Bob Cooke, C.E.T., C.E.C., G.S.C., General Manager and Dale Miller, G.S.C., Construction Manager, both come from a strong background of Commercial & Institutional projects in Alberta and British Columbia. Their experience ranges from Shopping Centres and Office buildings to Hospitals, Laboratories and Educational buildings.

With our emphasis being Design/Build and Design/Assist Project delivery, it is our basic premise to provide the best quality project, in a timely manner within the owner’s budget parameters. Our construction knowledge and experience allow us to make substantial contributions throughout the value engineering and constructability review process. Division 15 Mechanical Ltd. has developed & maintains a comprehensive cost database updated electronically monthly with current market pricing. Our extensive costing abilities combined with strong cost control systems enable us to evaluate various system approaches during design development & then monitor costs on the systems once selected.

Strong management is really only part of the story however. Our field personnel when combined with strong management are the true key to our strength. With five full time foremen and our ticketed journeymen and apprentices, we have great depth of experience. Ongoing training in safety and product updates contribute to a strong, effective workforce. Planning is key to the success of our projects. From pre-construction meetings with Vendors and Subcontractors to final close-out reviews by the consultant, details and scheduling are emphasized.

Over our 15 years serving the lower mainland, we have established strong relationships with our many repeat clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Building Officials. These strong relationships form an integral part of our operational philosophy and enable us to put together a strong effective team tailored for each specific project.
