District Energy

Division 15 Mechanical became the leading District Energy System (DES) provider in Metro Vancouver through the successful award and completion of many major DES installations, including the City of Vancouver’s Southeast False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility Distribution System, as well as district energy systems for the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.

Our dedicated DES team specializes in the construction of elaborate Distribution Piping Systems (DPS) from start to finish, utilizing proprietary welding procedures and offering all related civil and traffic management services, always under the umbrella of our COR-Certified safety program.

Additionally, in buildings connected to the DES and served by a Central District Energy plant, our services extend in the construction of turnkey Energy Transfer Stations (ETS), complete with all necessary controls and electrical requirements. Implementing laser scanning to Point Cloud technology in existing mechanical rooms and utilizing our in-house Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise, our teams are able create 3D models that help ensure high-quality installations that come in on budget and on schedule.
